Yunbo Wu is a documentary filmmaker and photo and video journalist. As the recipient of a departmental scholarship, he is currently earning his M.A. at NYU’s Graduate School of Journalism: News and Documentary. Yunbo has worked as an Assistant Director for the renowned Chinese documentary show Encounter. In years past he has created different documentaries investigating rural education in China, plastic pollution in Australia, and the impact of Covid-19 on migrant workers’ life in Singapore.

In today’s competitive market, learning how to effectively pitch your documentary is just as important as honing your writing and editing skills. And who better to learn from than the experts? Four college students enrolled in film and journalism programs across the U.S. will present their projects to a panel of industry professionals. Judith Helfand, independent filmmaker and co-founder of Chicken & Egg Pictures, will moderate and provide pitch training.
