Stephanie Etienne

Director

Stephanie Etienne, CNM, MPH, is a midwife, mother and advocate. She came to midwifery after many years in public health research, drug policy reform advocacy, and non-profit program management. Her passion for reproductive justice was born from her work with the Community Doula Project, a radical doula collective in New York City. She believes that reproductive justice is a human rights issue and that empowered pregnancies and births lead to empowered families. Etienne is a native New Yorker of proud Haitian descent. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland with her family. Listen to Me is her first film.
