Sinéad O’Shea is a filmmaker and journalist based in Dublin and has directed the documentary feature A Mother Brings Her Son to Be Shot (17) and the narrative short Humblebrag (19). Pray for Our Sinners (22) is her latest film.

Sinéad O’Shea’s first feature documentary A Mother Brings her Son to be Shot premiered at the London Film Festival and CPH:DOX where it was nominated for a FACT Award. It was one of the most successful documentary releases in Irish cinemas of 2018.

In 2018 Sinead was named as one of the top 10 European female filmmakers to watch by the European Film Promotion network and Screen International. She has also directed and produced over 100 films and reports with Al Jazeera English, BBC, Channel 4 and RTÉ. She won an Irish Media Justice Award for Lives in Limbo with The Irish Times and an Irish Film and Television Award for Sampler with RTE. Previously Sinéad covered Ireland for The New York Times.
