Karim Ahmad is a writer, cultural strategist, husband and father, member of the Guild of Future Architects, and Director of the Outreach & Inclusion Program at the Sundance Institute. At Sundance Karim is working to build a just and beautiful future for artists from historically marginalized communities by designing and overseeing emerging and mid-career artist support programs. He is the main author of the Restoring the Future report, a manifestation of a worldbuilding and advocacy initiative co-created by the ALLIED coalition of arts organizations. He was previously a Senior Strategist and Senior Producer at ITVS, and Creator and Showrunner of the groundbreaking sci-fi series, FutureStates. He can be found on Twitter as @thatkarimahmad.

VALUES AND ETHICS IN DOCUMENTARY: THE WAY FORWARD

In this open roundtable, American University researchers Patricia Aufderheide and Marissa Woods host an interactive discussion about the challenges and opportunities in creating shared standards for documentary ethics. Participants include members of the Documentary Accountability Working Group, the Undocumented Filmmakers Collective, FWD-DOC, International Documentary Association, Beyond Inclusion, Allied, and representatives from different public broadcasting entities.
