Joy Ash

Director, Producer

Joy Ash is a director and BAFTA, RTS, and Grierson-nominated series producer. She most recently directed, produced and filmed Poisoned: Killer in the Post, a two-part premium documentary series for Channel 4. The series premiered at Sheffield DocFest and aired on Channel 4 across two nights in July 2025.

In 2023, Joy was nominated for a BAFTA Craft Award Emerging Talent for Super Surgeons: A Chance at Life, which she filmed and series produced. Joy produced and edit produced the BAFTA, RTS, and Grierson-nominated series Baby Surgeons: Delivering Miracles.

Joy has a background in observational documentaries, specializing in sensitive access. Over the course of her career, she has covered a variety of subject matters, from pregnancy loss, mental health, cancer, terminal illnesses, and suicide. Joy has a proven track record of delivering high-quality, engaging and heartfelt series for large British broadcasters.
