Jannat Gargi is an award-winning creative producer and film executive. As Head of Documentary Films for Vulcan Productions, she has developed and produced a slate of acclaimed cause-based documentary feature films and series. In her work as an independent producer, she co-executive produced the Academy Award-nominated short documentary KNIFE SKILLS (2018) and produced Emmy nominated feature documentary CIRCO (2010).
Prior to joining Vulcan Productions in 2014, she served as Vice President of Alpha Cine Labs, leading the growth of a boutique film lab into one of the premier independent film labs in the country. She supported the theatrical release of many notable films including TAXI TO THE DARK SIDE, JESUS CAMP, IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS, and SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED.
Previously, she was Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for AtomFilms, where she oversaw licensing of all content including short films, animations, and digital content, as well as the development of original animated and live-action series for the web. Prior to AtomFilms, Jannat was the manager of theatrical marketing for both New Line Cinema and Fox Searchlight Pictures.
Jannat is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Documentary Branch, serves on the Board of Directors for the International Documentary Association and Washington FilmWorks, and is the co-chair of The Redford Center. She was born and raised in Punjab, India, and lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband and two sons.
