The Sludge War
Galassia Grassetto is the director, producer, and editor of The Sludge War, a five-year investigation into a secretive government program that has endangered the health and homes of millions of Americans for more than half a century.
Her work is driven by stories in which the accepted version of events begins to fall apart under scrutiny, particularly when powerful institutions shape the narrative and the people living with the consequences struggle to be heard. She is drawn to investigations that demand persistence, independence, and a willingness to keep asking questions.
That instinct developed early. Grassetto began diving with sharks at a young age and discovered they were far from the monsters she had been taught to believe. The experience deepened a lasting passion for wildlife and environmental issues.
Raised between France, Mexico, and Italy and fluent in four languages, Galassia grew up immersed in different cultures and perspectives.
