Dmitriy Khavin started working in video and film at the Downtown Community Television Center in New York City and has extensive experience editing documentary films, television programs and videos for digital platforms. Prior to joining The New York Times in 2019, Dmitriy edited programs for VICE News and Vox Media. Dmitriy was the video editor of The Russia Tapes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning series that proved, for the first time, that Russia was responsible for a series of attacks on hospitals and other civilian sites in opposition-held Syria. Dmitriy is from Odessa, Ukraine.
