Dez Hernandez is passionate about pursuing truth and telling the untold, unknown, and misunderstood stories. Throughout his career, he has traveled the country extensively, gaining a unique perspective on the nation’s most important and divisive issues.

Hernandez’s most recent project is The Service Gap, a docu-series that explores alternate opportunities for American high school graduates–and why those needs exist in the first place. He was recently selected as a Latino Lens Incubator finalist by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP). Hernandez has over a decade of experience with various mediums and productions, from HBO’s Luck and NBC’s American Ninja Warrior to PBS’ Veterans Coming Home digital series. He also served as a producer for the IUCN’s World Conservation Congress 2016 in Hawaii and his documentary, Baloeiros, shot in Brazil over a 6-year period, has a follow-up in the works. As a casting, development, story, field and line producer, he has created content for Animal Planet, TLC, Univision, A&E, WEtv, TRUtv and more. He is currently working on a slate of documentary and scripted projects, in addition to exploring new content opportunities in the technology and communications sectors.
