Atul Gawande led global health at USAID from 2022 to 2025, was a surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and was a professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Chan School of Public Health. He co-founded Ariadne Labs and Lifebox. He is a staff writer for The New Yorker, wrote four best-selling books, and was executive producer of the 2024 Oscar-nominated documentary feature To Kill A Tiger.
