Almudena Toral is the executive producer at ProPublica, where she leads the organization’s film, TV, and video efforts. Previously, she built and led the award-winning enterprise video team at Univision News Digital, taught video storytelling at Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, pursued her own documentary projects worldwide as a freelance journalist, and worked at The New York Times and TIME.

Her work has been recognized by multiple national Emmys, four Murrow Awards, a World Press Photo Video of the Year award, a Hillman Prize, RFK Human Rights Journalism awards, Pictures of the Year International, Webbys, and many others.
