Dr. Swapneel Mehta is a former postdoc in AI safety at MIT and worked on elections integrity at Twitter. He co-founded and serves as the president of the nonprofit SimPPL which recently launched an AI platform, Arbiter, to help prevent the manipulation of public views on health, elections, democracy, and policy.

SimPPL works with national newsrooms, fact-checkers, and a few govt. agencies across 23 countries. The organization can now show you what shapes your feed before it ends up shaping your views. SimPPL’s work has received awards from MIT, Google, Wikimedia, Mozilla, and were recently profiled in Nieman Lab.
