Lois Nembhard is the Director of Community Engagement and Programs at DC History Center + HumanitiesDC. She leads the team that provides DC residents with resources to interpret, share, and celebrate the history, culture and stories that make up DC. DC residents can receive grants and fellowships, produce and attend public humanities programs, and learn about oral history and community journalism. Lois has spent much of her career in grantmaking and program management, including with AmeriCorps and the Social Innovation Fund. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mills College in California, and her master’s from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School for Public and International Affairs.
