For a variety of reasons, be they practical or philosophical, many filmmakers and journalists are engaging the protagonists of their films, not as subjects, but as collaborators. What does collaboration between filmmakers and subjects look like in action? What are some factors that precipitate a shared project, and what are the distribution of roles, resources and credits? Who gets the final cut, or the final say in how the story is being told? This panel will explore the unexpected challenges and possibilities in this new collaborative paradigm.
