Sara has traveled the world making short films as a producer and editor,
producing content for the U.S. State Department, USAID, Discovery Channel, and think
tanks. Her work has taken her to Iraq, Congo, India, China, Tibet, El Salvador, and
Honduras. As an independent filmmaker, she produced and directed The Southern
Ladies about the struggles of being gay in Pittsburgh. She has also taught filmmaking at
Old Dominion University. Sara was a 2019 Docs In Progress Fellow and also serves on
the board of Women in Film and Video-DC where she also organizes a monthly
screening series.
