Katie Campbell

Video Journalist

Katie Campbell is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow award-winning filmmaker and journalist at ProPublica. She produces in-depth science stories and recently won a 2019 National Academies of Sciences Keck Communications Award for a project on how levees make flooding worse. Prior to joining ProPublica, she managed video for a CPB-funded public-media environmental reporting partnership, where her investigation into the illegal exportation of electronic waste helped uncover the largest e-recycling fraud in U.S. history. She holds a master’s degree in narrative journalism from the University of Oregon.
