Ximena Amescua Cuenca is a filmmaker and producer from Tijuana, Mexico. She is currently the Communications & Marketing Manager at Skylight, a human rights media organization. Before joining the Skylight team in 2017, Cuenca worked as an executive coordinator at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Her short-documentary, Juanita, produced in the Culture and Media program at NYU, premiered at the 2015 Margaret Mead Film Festival and was nominated for the 2016 SIMA Awards in Los Angeles, California. Cuenca is one of the programmers and producers at “Proyector,” a New York City showcase of contemporary independent Mexican films.
