Paul Waters is a Senior Associate at the Democracy Fund, a bipartisan foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. Focusing on a vibrant media and the public square, Paul supports the Public Square Program’s mission to invest in innovations and institutions that help people understand and participate in the democratic process. Paul leads the Engaged Journalism strategy, which works to foster practices that make news outlets more responsive and representative by authentically connecting with and involving the community, transforming newsroom practices, reflecting diverse perspectives, and producing more meaningful and textured news.
